Torah study and good deeds

[The following lesson takes note of the way the biblical Joseph involved himself in helping others, and the way that the tribe of Yissachar is credited with Torah study.]

"One who involves himself in both Torah study and good deeds will merit the portion of two tribes...he will merit to have his enemies fall before him, as Joseph merited, and he will merit to achieve understanding, as Yissachar did."

Torah scholars increase peace
