Hi,
"Gd caused King Chizkiyahu to suffer, and told Yeshayah, "Go visit the sick," as it is written, "In those days, Chizkiyahu became deathly ill, and the prophet Yeshayah son of Amotz came to him and said, 'So says Gd: Instruct your household, for you will die and not live.'"
"What did that message mean? You will die in this world, and you will not live in the next world.
"Chizkiyahu asked: Why should all this befall me?
"Yeshayah replied: Because you have not been involved in procreation.
"Chizkiyahu explained: I saw in a Divinely inspired vision that I would have bad children!
"Yeshayah replied: What business do you have in the secrets of the Merciful One? You should do as you are instructed, and Gd will do whatever pleases Gd."

Intricacies of a Divine Plan
Hi,
“Rav Hemnuna said: What is the meaning of ‘Who is like the sage, and who knows the solution of a matter (Kohelet 8)?’
“It means: Who is like Gd, who knows how to produce a compromise between two righteous people: Chizkiyahu and Yeshayahu.
“Chizkiyahu said, ‘Yeshayahu should come to me, as Eliyahu went to Achav.’ Yeshayahu said, ‘Chizkiyahu should come to me, as Yehoram ben Achav went to Elisha.’ What did Gd do? He made Chizkiyahu suffer illness, and He told Yeshayahu (Melachim II 20, Yeshayah 38), ‘Go examine the sick.’”

The importance of saying Thank You
Hi,
"Gd wanted to make Chizkiyahu into Mashiach, and Sancherev into Gog uMagog.
"Justice declared before Gd: Master of the Universe! David, king of Israel, said many songs and praises before You and You did not make him Mashiach. You performed all of these miracles for Chizkiyah and he did not sing before You – You will make him Mashiach?!"

Censorship, from Maimonides
Hi,
Regarding King Chizkiyah's decision to conceal the "Book of Cures" of his day:
"There are practices that Gd has forbidden, but that one may study and analyze, for Gd only said, 'Do not learn to practice them,' and our tradition-based understanding, recorded in the Talmud in Sanhedrin 68, is that one may learn them in order to analyze and teach.
"However, when people destroyed their path and began to cure themselves through these means, he removed the practices and hid them away."
(Commentary of Rambam to Mishnah Pesachim, Chapter 4)

Learning, Doing, Teaching
Hi,
It's a bit complicated today, but worth the effort:
"Rabbi Nechemiah said: When they buried King Chizkiyah, they honored him by placing a Torah scroll upon his bier and declaring, 'This one fulfilled everything written in that one.'...
"Rabbi Yochanan said: Nowadays, we also say 'This one fulfilled everything written in that one' - but we don't say, 'This one taught everything written in that one.' [This implies that teaching is greater than practicing.]
"But have we not learned, 'Learning is great, for it leads to deeds?' [Which implies that practicing is greater than learning.]
"One statement is regarding learning, the other statement is regarding teaching. [In other words: Practicing Judaism is greater than learning about it, but teaching others is even greater.]"
(Talmud, Bava Kama 17a)
