Admitting Divine Justice

Tehillim 84:7 says: “Those who pass through the valley of tears will turn it into a spring; the early rain will cloak it in blessings.”

"‘Those who pass through’ are the people who violate Gd’s desires.
"‘The valley’ is deepened for them in Gehennom.
"‘Of tears’ – They cry and produce tears, like a spring.
"‘The early rain will cloak it in blessings’ – they declare the judgment to be righteous, saying, ‘Master of the Universe, You have judged well, You have found merit well, You have found liability well, You have prepared Gehennom for the wicked and Gan Eden for the righteous well.’"

The obligation to repent

Hi,

"Mitzvah 73 is that Gd instructed us to admit sins of desire and accidental sins which we have committed before Gd, and to declare them, along with our repentance. This is called viduy, and it means that one should declare, 'Please, Gd, I have sinned accidentally, I have sinned out of desire, I have sinned out of rebellion, and I did such-and-such.' One should go on at length and request forgiveness in this manner, according to his speaking ability."

Repentance - Admitting error

Hi,

"How does one admit sin? One says: 'Please, Gd, I have sinned accidentally/intentionally/rebelliously before You, I have done such-and-such, I regret it and I am embarassed by it, and I will never return to it.'

"This is the essence of viduy (admission); one who does more is praiseworthy."
