Honouring self-sacrifice

Commenting on the biblical verse (Devarim 22:6), "When a bird's nest happens before you on the road, in any tree or on the ground, chicks or eggs, and the mother sits upon the chicks or upon the eggs, do not take the mother with the young."

"The mother could flee from the human being, but she tries to protect the chicks or the eggs. Therefore, she should be spared."
