What prayer can be like

Part of a description of the experience of prayer for one who develops his piety and focus:

"That time [of prayer] will be, for him, the heart of time and its fruit. Other times will be the means of reaching that time; he will long for it to draw near, for in that time he will become spiritual and be distanced from the animal, and the fruit of his day and night will be those three times of prayer. The fruit of his week will be Shabbat, for then he adheres to the Divine."
